Common Questions

House Rules and Dress Code are set by The Yale Club, which operates The Clubhouse.  These can be revised at any time, therefore it’s best to consult The Yale Club’s website for the most up-to-date Dress Code and Rules and Regulations.

Where exactly is the Club located?
We’re within the Yale Club at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue, on the corner of East 44th Street, directly across the street from the Met Life Building, within a block of Grand Central Terminal.

What are the Club hours?
The Clubhouse is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to midnight. After midnight, only registered room guests will be admitted.

Is there parking nearby?
Parking is available on Vanderbilt and the south side of 44th Street. Hourly and daily rates apply.  Valet parking can also be coordinated through the Front Office Manager.  Members and overnight guests may present their parking receipt at the Front Desk for discounted rates.

Are children welcome?
Yes. We have children’s menus in all of our dining rooms, and children’s events throughout the year.  Children over the age of 10 are required to abide by the dress code. The Club does not recommend a particular baby sitting service, however, we do offer our guests the number of the Baby Sitting Guild at 212-682-0227.

May a bring a guest to the Club with me?
Of course!  Members are responsible for the conduct of guests they sponsor, for informing their guests of the House Rules, including the dress code, and for all debts incurred by their guests.

What is the Dress Code?
Neat, respectful appearance is required at all times. Please consult The Yale Club’s website for specifics.

What is the policy about the use of cell phones and laptop computers?
In consideration of Members and guests, the use of electronic devices in the House is discouraged. This is also addressed in greater detail on The Yale Club website.

How are my club charges billed?
All charges must be signed for with proper signature and the correct account number.  Cash payments for Club services are not permitted.  At the end of the month, you will receive a house statement with all current charges. Upon request, guests of Members may settle their accounts by credit card.  All reciprocal club members are required to settle their accounts by credit card.

Is there tipping at the Club?
No. Club employees may not accept tips. A gratuity is added to all dining room bills; other employees are compensated by contributions to our Annual Holiday Fund.
